This October, Hoan Kiem Lake welcomes a new stop for visitors exploring central Hanoi. From October 8 to December 2, 2026, the art installation “The Ribbon of Memories” will be on display by Hoan Kiem Lake, featuring a gently curved elevated walkway set within the lakeside garden.

Located along the lakeside promenade on Le Thai To Street, the installation combines an elevated landscape walkway with lighting and mirrored frames.
Its flowing design creates a new way to experience Hoan Kiem Lake, blending contemporary elements with the greenery and familiar scenery of the city centre.
The installation is presented in celebration of the 72nd anniversary of Hanoi’s Capital Liberation Day and in the lead-up to Vietnamese Culture Day on November 24.
During the day, it offers a new path through the lakeside garden. After sunset, lighting and reflections from the mirrored elements give the space a completely different atmosphere.
A New Photo Spot for Autumn in Hanoi
October is one of the best times to slow down and explore central Hanoi on foot.
From “The Ribbon of Memories”, visitors can continue around Hoan Kiem Lake, wander through the Old Quarter, stop by St. Joseph’s Cathedral or simply spend some time enjoying the atmosphere by the lake.
For photography, daytime brings plenty of greenery and lakeside views, while the evening highlights the installation’s lighting against the lively backdrop of central Hanoi.
